Marilou Hermens

Marilou Hermens (1958) is married, a mother of three children and has a medical background as an operation-assistant in the operating theatre.

Since 1980 she has been practicing yoga and in 1985 she started teaching yoga. During those years she has attended many lessons with several Dutch yoga teachers. In 1991 she finished the 2 year training for teaching yoga to pregnant women and their partners.

In 1998 she became a student of the Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Tradition. Since then every year she has been to either the ashram in India or to the USA to attend seminars or silence retreats.

She completed the International Teachers Training programme under the guidance of Swami Veda in 2005.

She has taught yoga for several years at the local primary school and is still teaching yoga at the local high school.

In her yoga centre she guides people who want to deepen their yoga and meditation practice.

But also when there are physical or mental problems, people find relief with the lessons. The teaching is done in small groups and during individual sessions.

Marilou’s favourite subject is the breathing process.

Regularly workshops are organised in Bilthoven with Himalayan Teachers from abroad.

Marilou Hermens (1958, getrouwd en moeder van 3 kinderen) geeft sinds 1985 yogales, is in 1999 geinitieerd in de Himalaya Traditie en heeft in maart 2006 het certificaat van de Teachers Training ontvangen van Swâmî Veda als eerste in Nederland. Ze heeft haar Yoga en Meditatie Praktijk in Bilthoven en is gespecialiseerd in de adem volgens de Himâlaya Traditie.
