Anne Glazier

Anne Glazier teaches in a soft voice, and students move in close, because they want to hear every word. Her lessons are bright with knowledge, wisdom, vitality and humor. Anne studied, and later taught, Sanskrit at the University of London and in evening classes for people from various spiritual traditions. Initiated into a Himalayan tradition of Advaita Vedanta meditation and philosophy in 1963, she has continued her scholarly and spiritual studies in Indian Philosophy with many academics and practitioners of meditation. Over the years, she has taught practical philosophy in schools of meditation in England and in ashrams in India. She is a private researcher and writer, who has worked on the Spiritual Practices section of the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Hinduism, to be published by the University of South Carolina, and for a number of academic journals. Having been a disciple of Swami Veda Bharati for a number of years, she has now retired from teaching in London in order to serve at Swami Rama's Ashram in Rishikesh, India, and teach at Swami Vedaís centers around the world. In 2002 she visited Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Tokyo, Wonju City and Seoul in Korea, Calgary, Regina, Trinidad, Milwaukee, Chicago and Minneapolis, returning to the Rishikesh ashram in September. At the ashram she teaches as and when required, works on editing Swami Veda’s forthcoming books, and on the Sanskrit Manuscript Research Project, soon to be re-housed in Sadhaka Grama.
