Brief Report on the Events in February 2007 at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama
Over 300 delegates from 22 countries attended.
First ten days two weeks people met in small groups to share how they had implemented into their personal psychologies the homework that was given.
The following ten days were spent in small groups to discuss the shape that a feminine organization may take on the basis of the personal spiritual homework done.
The Constitution for the Association of Himalayan Yoga Meditation Societies (AHYMSIN) was passed so that AHYMSIN may work in association with the Himalayan International Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy (Kanpur, India) and Dhyana Mandiram Trust.
Based on the provisions of the Constitution Swami Veda Bharati appointed an Executive Committee, office bearers and a Board of Directors as well as a Committee of financial advisers, PR Committee a Committee for Teacher Training and a Spiritual Committee.
In future the Executive Committee and the Office Bearers will be elected rather than be appointed.
The above brief summary does not include any report on the most exhilarating events such as :
• Honouring those who have contributed services to the Swami Rama mission including the leaders of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust.
• The fullness offerings of the Yajna.
• Mahabharata folk dances from the Garhwal Himalayas.
• Meditation in motion, a dance from one of the world’s great epics, iGaligo, for which the artists had flown specially from South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
• Performances by the KHEL children.
• Honouring Swami Veda Bharati’s 60 years of teaching.
• Korean Tea Ceremony, an experience in meditation in action and sanctity in small things of daily life such as tea.
• The consecration of statues from China and Tibet performed by the high Lamas and by the Abbot of Ding Ling Temple near Nanjing, China. It was a most impressive three hour ceremony.
